What You Will Learn

Discover the joy of working with glass in this hands-on one-to-one course, where you’ll be introduced to the foundations of traditional glass painting and learn how to combine this beautiful, centuries-old technique with contemporary methods of glass fusing. Enjoy a more personal learning experience with my undivided attention throughout the two-day course. With dedicated guidance at every stage, there is plenty of time to explore glass painting and fusing in greater depth, with a more tailored approach to learning and the opportunity to develop your own ideas in a much more focused environment. You’ll learn how to paint on glass using traditional vitreous glass paints, brushes and painting tools to create hand-painted, nature inspired imagery, which we will then fuse into thick glass pieces. You’ll create three 10 × 10 cm hand-painted and fused glass artworks, inspired by woodland, each with its unique three-dimensional qualities, colour, light and movement. Each piece will be presented in its own wooden display stand, ready for you to take home and enjoy. No previous experience with glass or art is needed. You’ll be guided through every stage in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment, where you can fully immerse yourself in working with glass and enjoy the process of creating with your own hands. I believe everyone can be an artist, and this course is an opportunity to learn a new skill, slow down and simply enjoy making something beautiful Your finished glass artworks will be ready for collection a few days after the course, once they have completed their final kiln firing. They can also be posted to you by arrangement at an additional cost.
